Diversifying the workforce
Museum Galleries Scotland (MGS) is the national development body for all museums and galleries in Scotland. They support museums and galleries with grant funding, skills development, advice and advocacy.
With a focus on inclusion and diversity, MGS is supporting the Young Person's Guarantee with Fair Work for all employees. MGS believes that this focus creates new thinking and challenges outdated practices. It also helps the business function at its best.
MGS is supporting equality and diversity in other ways too. They are a Living Wage and Disability Confident employer and offer Modern Apprenticeships.
Someone coming with a new point of view and life experience is essential to helping us grow and be the best we can be. We can always improve our way of working and our thinking and having young people in the workplace does this.
They also practise Closing the Disability Employment Gap recruitment.
They are also an Investors in People employer, holding Gold Award accreditation. Closing the Disability Employment Gap is important to MGS, and they run regular mental health sessions for all staff.
Jobs are advertised in a wide range of places, ensuring more people will get to see them.
